Villa Bonomi Ca’ Dura was built in the 17th centuryas the summer residence of the bourgeoisBacchetti
family from Padova, who owned lands in Ronchi di Campanile. They were printers since the18th century.
The popular nickname `Ca’ Dura` wasadded to facilitate the memory of the architect`sname: Alberto
Durer (in the family tradition, he issaid to be descended from Albrecht Durer, the famous German painter
who was in Venice in theearly 16th century).
The complex consists of the main palace, a series of rusticannexes arranged subsequently on the right
side of theresidential building, while on the left side, slightly set apart, thechapel stands alone. With its
polygonal facade, it contrastsstylistically with the severe lines of the palace. The main body hasa
dissonant front facade facing the street, likely due to thereduction in size of the ground floor windows
(perhaps amodification after the initial design) and the absence of aprojecting balcony. However, the
facade overlooking the garden, with the symmetrical repetition of windows, the opening of a dooron the
upper floor corresponding to the entrance portal, and thetrifoil window supported by columns, provides
the basis forassessing a classical architectural balance.
The compact construction is divided into three floors, includingthe attic, and is accessed through a
majestic rounded arch portalwith a stone frame and a keystone mask. In the noble floor, animposing
trifoil window stands out in the center, with the centralarch slightly higher, all accompanied by a balcony
with stonecolumns flush with the wall on the street side. On the gardenside, the balcony is projecting and
supported by four corbels. Thetwo series of trifoil windows that identify the passage hall on thenoble
floor are adorned similarly to the portal on the lower floor, with a stone frame and keystone masks.
The top floor, located in the attic, is illuminated by small squarewindows. The property has undergone
acomprehensive renovation. Theentire north and south walls ofthe Villa have been ionally,
the roof has beencompletely renovated with thereinforcement of beams and roof has been
insulated andmade ventilated for maximumcomfort. All fixtures have beenreplaced with new frames made
ofnational maple wood with triplelow-emissivity glass. The heating and cooling systeminstalled is
implemented with aheat pump system. Ventilationconvectors and an underfloorradiant heating system
arepresent on the ground ricity consumption is keptlow thanks to the installation of60 kW of
photovoltaic panels nearthe villa and 120 kWh of lithium batteries. The entire thermal andelectrical
distribution has beencompletely renovated.

In 2021, the Villa is transferred to new owners who oversee a
complete renovation and energy redevelopment, opting to
replace the entire roof with an insulated and ventilated one.
Thermal insulation has also been applied to the north and
south walls. All windows and shutters have been replaced.
The traditional heating system has been modernized with a
heat pump system powered by 60 kW of photovoltaic panels
and 120 kWh of lithium batteries, thus creating the first
energetically sustainable Venetian Villa.
